We're so happy to see you!

We are reopening the Museum August 21 for a member preview, and August 22 to the public.

We've missed seeing all of you at the Museum, and are excited to welcome you back to our space. In response to COVID-19 precautions, you will find that some things have changed to ensure that all of our guests have a safe, stress-free visit. To safely open, we are following the prescribed recommendations of the national, state, and local health community. The following guidelines were thoughtfully put in place to help you maximize your Museum experience in the safest way possible.

Mask Up!

In following the CDC guidelines, masks will be required for all guests ages 2 and up.  If you arrive at the Museum without a mask, you will be able to purchase one for $1.00 at the ticket desk and in the Amazing Body Store. For more information on the CDC recommendations, click here

Plan Ahead!

We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance here and select 'print at home' tickets for minimal-touch or touch-free entry.

We are operating at a reduced capacity; purchasing tickets ahead of time online will help you avoid the wait upon arrival.

Our Museum hours have slightly changed.

  • 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
  • 10:00 am - 7:00 Thursday (Free Family Thursday Hours are 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm; While tickets are free during this time, everyone entering the Museum is required to make a reservation. Plan ahead and avoid the wait by making your reservation here.)

Here is what we are doing...

Since we've been closed, The Health Museum invested a significant amount of time in making sure that the Museum can safely open to serve the Greater Houston community. Our primary focus is to make sure that our staff as well as our visitors are protected and remain safe throughout their time in the Museum. All Museum staff has gone through mandatory training on cleanliness and social distancing practices to ensure a safe environment.

For our repeat patrons, your museum experience will be different from your last, but no less entertaining or enlightening. For our first-time visitors, welcome, and we hope this visit will not be your last!

  •  We have installed plexiglass at all points-of-sale
  • At this time, we have closed off the high-touch portions of our exhibits for a low-touch visitor experience
  • Parking tokens used to exit the Museum parking lot will undergo sanitizing protocols with each use
  • Hand sanitizing dispensers are placed throughout the Museum
  • We have enhanced cleaning precautions of all door handles, handrails, elevator buttons, and high-touch areas at 30-minute intervals during hours of operation
  • All areas of the Museum are thoroughly sanitized at the beginning and the end of each day
  • We are operating at a reduced capacity; purchasing tickets ahead of time online is highly encouraged to avoid the wait
  • We have increased the flow of fresh air ventilation throughout the Museum

This is your part...

  • Please put on your mask before entering the Museum
  • Have your e-tickets out and ready to be scanned when you approach the visitor services desk
  • Social distancing is important. Upon entering Museum exhibits please follow the directional arrows and adhere to floor markers
  • Please note the signage throughout the Museum for COVID safety expectations during your visit
  • Listen in, as we will give guests friendly reminders to note their own spatial distance via our speaker system
  • For your own safety and the safety of others, please follow all of the above recommendations. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person not following these new policies or persons presenting with contagious symptoms

While we are excited to see you all, we will still maintain our efforts for creating digital content. Please follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for our digital uploads including videos featuring special guests, our science educators, and more!

Above all, be well and be kind.
