The Youth Volunteer Program at The Health Museum Values:

  • Leadership Opportunities, Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Career Development: Youth Engaged in Real Work
  • Community Connections and Awareness
  • Development  of Positive Social Skills

High School youth 15 to 18 are introduced to the museum in the summer months only. To be selected for the team of youth volunteers, teens must fill out an application. Applications are reviewed as they come in and accepted on a rolling admissions basis until the recruitment goals are met.

Summer Discovery Camp Assistant Intern:  Applications are open for 2017 on March 15, 2017.  Students, ages 15 - 18 (by June 1), have the opportunity to work one-on-one with in camps relating to medicine, forensic science, and sports.  Weeklong camps run from June through August, Monday through Friday. Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each camp requires a youth volunteer to support the needs of our young campers. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for more than one week of service. Youth that have successfully completed the required youth volunteer hours in previous summers have priority in the selection process. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE APPLICATION FOR THE TEEN SUMMER YOUTH VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IS CLOSED.  THANK YOU FOR APPLYING.

Youth Groups

There are several opportunities a year for groups to assist with large mailings, stuffing goodie bags or helping with special events. Service organizations are welcome to inquire about episodic volunteer opportunities for groups.
