All scouts are required to wear uniforms during class and field trips.
Scouts must bring their own blue card(s) to class.
Advance registration is required for all scout classes.
Badges Offered at The Health Museum
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Learn about precautions that should be taken to prevent a variety of emergency situations and techniques that can be used to deal with them, should they occur. This class covers and/or provides scouts with the means to complete all of the requirements for the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge* except for the First Aid merit badge requirements and requirement 8c.
FIRST AID
Do you know first aid? You should! Learn basic and potentially life-saving techniques, including CPR, in this class. This class covers all of the requirements for the First Aid Merit Badge* except requirement 1.
MEDICINE
Do you know what an opthalmoscope, otoscope, and stethoscope are? Are you interested in learning about careers in the medical field? Learn about some of the greatest people in the history of medicine and design an advertising campaign in the Medicine merit badge class. This class covers all of the requirements for the Medicine Merit Badge except requirement 10.*
DENTISTRY
Ever heard of a scaler? Want to learn the difference between orthodontics and periodontics? In Dentistry, scouts will learn about the history of this distinct field of medicine, view x-rays and more during this merit badge class. This class covers all requirements (except req. 3) for the Dentistry Merit Badge.*
FINGERPRINTING
Do you know the different types of fingerprint patterns? What about the difference between AFIS and biometric fingerprinting systems? Come learn the answers to these questions and many more in the Fingerprinting merit badge class. This class covers all the requirements for the Fingerprinting Merit Badge.*
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Learn about ecology, pollution, the greenhouse effect and more plus perform experiments that are hands on, interactive and fun! All requirements for this merit badge will be covered in class.
All scouts registering for this class are required to bring a blue card with their unit leader's signature to start Environmental Science*.
SPACE EXPLORATION
Create your own Mars Rover or Moon Lander, design a lunar outpost and more. This class covers all requirements for the Space Exploration* merit badge except requirement 3.
CITIZENSHIP IN THE WORLD
We are all citizens of the world. Scouts can find out what it takes to be a good citizen of the world while learning more about different countries around the world. All requirements for the Citizenship In the World* badge will be covered in this class.
PERSONAL FITNESS
How fit are you? Discover the importance of good nutrition and discover what being healthy really means. This class covers requirements 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9. This class does not cover requirements 1, 6, 7 and 8. Proof of completion of requirement 1 must be brought to class to begin this class.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT
Personal management is about mapping a plan for your life that will involve setting short-range and long-range goals and investigating different ways to reach those goals. Education, training, and experience all help make your goals become a reality. To achieve your goals, you will choose the best path and make a commitment to it, while remaining flexible enough to deal with changes and new opportunities. This class covers all requirements for Personal Management* except requirements 2, 8c and 8d.

CITIZENSHIP IN THE NATION
As Scouts fulfill the requirements for this merit badge, they will learn how to become active citizens are aware of and grateful for their liberties and rights, to participate in their governments and protect their freedom, helping to defend their country and standing up for individual rights on behalf of all its citizens. This class covers all requirements for Citizenship in the Nation* except requirement number 3.

COMMUNICATIONS
This badge gives participants the ability to learn more about effective communication skills. Communications prepares the participant to deliver their message across various cultures, contexts and media.This class covers all Communications* requirements except requirement 8. When taken outside of a camp package, requirements 5 and 8 will not be covered.

CITIZENSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY
A nation is a patchwork of communities that differ from each other and may be governed differently. But regardless of how local communities differ, they all have one point in common: In the United States, local government means self-government. Good citizens help to make decisions about their community through their elected local officials. This class covers all Citizenship in the Community* requirements except requirement 7. When taken outside of a camp package, requirements 3 & 7 are not covered.

FAMILY LIFE
The family is the basic unit of society and is important to both individuals and communities. The world is rapidly changing, making today's society much more complex than ever before. As Scouts earn this merit badge, they will realize why it is important to know more about family life and how to strengthen their families. All requirements are covered for this badge except 3, 4, and 5.

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL
In their outdoor activities, Scouts learn to bring the clothing and gear they need, to make good plans, and do their best to manage any risks. But now and then, something unexpected happens. When things go wrong, the skills of wilderness survival can help make everything right again. This class covers all requirements except requirements 5, 6 and 8.

LIFESAVING
No Boy Scout will ignore a plea for help. However, the desire to help is of little use unless one knows how to give the proper aid. The main purpose of the Lifesaving merit badge is to prepare Scouts to assist those involved in water accidents, teaching them the basic knowledge of rescue techniques, the skills to perform them, and the judgment to know when and how to act so that they can be prepared for emergencies. This class covers all requirements except requirement 1.

SWIMMING
Swimming is a leisure activity, a competitive sport, and a basic survival skill. Scouts who earn this badge will learn about safety when swimming and diving, how swimming can contribute to overall fitness and health, and gain some basic competitive swimming skills. This class covers all requirements except requirement 3.

*All scouts attending merit badge classes must be in Class A uniforms, with no exceptions granted. Scouts that fail to come to class in proper attire will not be allowed to remain in class and there will be no refunds provided.
Private Class Scheduling
Classes are also available through Private Class scheduling (space-permitting) for groups of 10 or more scouts on a first-come, first-served basis. Customized class requests will be considered when submitted at least 30 days prior to the scheduled class. Customized classes are subject to an additional charge of $2 per scout.
